Tutor pay policy

Clear rules for tutor earnings, platform commission, and payout timing.

Account

ModuleTutor pays tutors from the tutor fee. The current split is 80% to the tutor and 20% platform commission.

What tutors earn

  • Tutors earn 80% of the tutor fee for each completed, paid, eligible session.
  • The platform keeps 20% of the tutor fee as commission.
  • The booking fee shown to students is separate and is not part of the tutor payout.

Simple example

  • If your tutor fee is R100, your tutor earning is R80.
  • The platform commission on that tutor fee is R20.
  • If a booking fee is added for the student, that fee goes to the platform and does not reduce the R80 tutor earning.

When earnings become payable

  • A tutor earning is created when a booking is paid and confirmed.
  • The earning becomes available after the session is completed or after a confirmed student no-show outcome.
  • Cancelled sessions, refunded sessions, and confirmed tutor no-shows are not payable.

Payouts

  • Keep accurate bank details on your profile before payout.
  • Payouts are processed manually by an admin after eligible earnings become available.
  • Your payout records show the tutor fee, platform commission, and tutor earnings for each eligible booking.
